Suffolk Police in Great Ashfield
PC1443 Stefan Henriksen
Our local Community Engagement Officer based at Stowmarket Police Station
Stefan visits Great Ashfield regularly and amongst other things he provides support for our local Neighbourhood Watch and Speed Watch schemes. He is keen for all residents to know that he would like people to feel free to approach him if and when they see him around the village. He would welcome the opportunity to talk with you (properly socially distanced of course!) about any relevant issues, or just as an opportunity to introduce himself.
Although he does not take incident/crime reports directly, and any such reports still need to be reported by phone to 101 or online (see below), he is, however, available to offer advice and to answer your questions on any specific issues you may have, he can also research what is happening to a reported crime etc, if for example Suffolk Police are not communicating well and to generally aid and improve communication between the community and the Police, in any way he can.
PC Henriksen's contact details are given below, and even though he is not on duty 24/7 he will always get back to you as soon as he can.

Great Ashfield is part of the Suffolk Neighbourhood Watch Association, if you are interested in joining please email the Parish Clerk on greatashfieldpc@outlook.com, who will put you in touch with our Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator. The more residents who join the safer our community will be.
The Neighbourhood Watch scheme is encouraged and supported by Suffolk Police and is there to offer lots of advice about how residents can protect themselves and their belongings in their own homes and how to make the village a safer, friendlier and pleasanter place to live.
These are just some of the areas where Neighbourhood Watch can offer help and advice:
- How to feel safe in your home and to make sure all callers at your door are genuine.
- Keeping your vehicles safe.
- Protecting your property, including your garages, sheds and outbuildings.
- Advising about safety on the phone and recognising scams and fraudsters.
- Advice on cybercrime and how to stay safe online.
VILLAGE WHATSAPP GROUP
Great Ashfield has an active Village WhatsApp Group, which can be very helpful in reporting crime and/or anti-social behaviour in the village. The WhatsApp Group may also send alerts to Farm Watch, when necessary, for example, when hare coursing, off-road biking or driving are witnessed, or if a suspicious vehicle has been seen.
If you would like to join the group please contact Carol White on 07949 262005.
